i asked dollar about the extra day i had booked by mistake since vehicle was returned on 12/08/08. they stated i would have to contact the agent i booked with. there was nothing they could do. hence i have paid for an extra day with no redress. the first two vehicles had tyre bulges and this annoyed me due to the delays in my holiday and losted time due to waiting around or taking them to exchange. when paying a large sum for a holiday i don’t expect to wait around losing valueable holiday time. when i explained that online i booked a car due to the number of suitcases it took and was told that my suitcases were too big and that the number indicates an average size. i had one small, one medium and a normal sized suitcase. the fist vehicle did not have a full tank of petrol and on returning on my last day informed the staff the vehicle had a full tank and the intial one was not full. they said i could get a voucher, how useful would this be given i would only use a vehicle whilst on holiday once a year. to summarise dollar have had one days hire from me and extra petrol from me supplied me with two defective vehicles which cost me holiday time. i feel they are unfair and there is no proper redress for a uk vistor to the usa.
