1) website left total doubt about local changes/extra costs so I was afraid to make the reservation in case I was going to discover lots of extra costs when I arrived. would be better to be really clear/honest about this straight away so that we can go through with online booking without ringing your offices. No free cancellation so otherwise will just not risk reserving. Specifically it was not clear on one-way charges. It’s not helpful to say there ‘may be one-way charges’ from the local agency and ask us to ‘cancel’ or ‘accept them & continue’ without telling us HOW MUCH they are, as we need to know how much BEFORE making the decision, especially when the one way costs can be more than the total cost of car hire! It would be very helpful to specify on the web how much per supplier(or at least examples to see if it is worth going any further), and if this is not possible to direct the person to customer services as early as possible in the web reservation procedure. 2) include customer service number for people ringing from abroad as well as UK 0800 number 3) would be good to have an estimate and be able to book gps with the supplier through the website, as otherwise it’s extra/unknown costs when we collect the car. (the option offered of receiving it & sending it back by post was not practical & wasn’t possible for people outside of uk). The actual car hire in the US went very well so the negative impression just concerns the web reservation process.
