Obliged to upgrade as booked car would not have coped with luggage as implied in original booking. Waited over 1hour in SF to get car told had fuel for 499miles and to return empty to LA. 12 miles up freeway in next to outer lane ran out of fuel; extremely lucky to be able to reach shoulder and park otherwise great risk of serious collision from behind and ? what injury to all four passengers including 2 children. No water in screen washer and no instruction manual for car. Car good to drive and reception member of staff at LA concerned at poor preparation of vehicle and cost of tank of fuel gave $40 dollar refund. Could do better!
